Long Live Multimedia with REST and Oracle APEX!
Part of the Oracle database since Oracle8, Oracle have discontinued Oracle Multimedia as of Oracle 19c. This leaves existing customers with a dilemma, either keep their multimedia on 18c and put off the inevitable for as long as possible, or find another solution for image processing.
We’ll take a look at some of the alternatives available to APEX and PL/SQL developers. In particular how to use RESTful web services to call a range of cloud providers to process images. Image resizing, watermark creation and other manipulations will be demonstrated.
